HBBA/HPL Committee Meeting The next meeting of the HBBA/HPL committee will take place at 8pm on Tuesday 7th July at SS Alban and Stephen Church in St.Albans. Clubs with no elected members on the Executive Committee are welcome to send two non-voting representatives, provided that they request an item to be included on the agenda, this must be communicated in writing to the General Secretary beforehand. HBBA/HPL AGM Information This years Annual General Meeting of the Herts Basketball Association / Herts Premier League will take place at Queens School Sports Centre, Bushey, on Wednesday 17th June 2009 at 8pm. The sports hall is on the same side of the road as Costco and the Police Sports Centre, and is next to the Powerleague football centre at the back of the Queens School car park. The meeting will take place on the balcony overlooking the sports hall. The full address of the school is as follows..... Queens School Aldenham Road Bushey Hertfordshire WD23 2TY Existing HPL clubs are reminded that they must be represented at this meeting. Anyone wishing to enter a new team must attend to submit their proposal to the membership. The meeting is also open to any interested referees and table officials, as well as representatives of the Ladies League and Junior Central Venue League. Download the AGM Documentation Here Next Season Please contact Acting General Secretary Sara Nash as soon as possible to register your interest if you are interested in entering a new team into the Herts Premier League next season. All new teams wishing to enter will need to attend the AGM in June to submit a proposal, which will then be voted on by the members. Unfortunately entries received after the AGM cannot be considered. HPL League Cup Finals and Season Round Up The Herts Premier League Season came to and end on Sunday 19th April with the League Cup Semi Finals and Finals at Wodson Park. In front of a large crowd, Hertfordshire Warriors defeated North Herts Knights to take the Division Two Cup, whislt Ware Jokers had the last laugh against Luton Fliers 1 in a thrilling overtime game to win the Division One competition. Full results from the semi finals and finals can be found in the "Fixtures and Results" section of the website. The Competition Winners for this season are as follows..... DIVISION ONE - Harlow Hawks 1 DIVISION TWO - Hertfordshire Warriors HERTS CUP - Luton Fliers 1 HERTS PLATE - Aylesbury Dux DIVISION ONE LEAGUE CUP - Ware Jokers DIVISION TWO LEAGUE CUP - Hertfordshire Warriors LADIES LEAGUE - Queen Bees The season is now over, but as usual the work begins quickly for next season starting with the HBBA/HPL AGM in June. Details will follow in due course. We hope to see all clubs there. Until then, have an enjoyable summer. League Cup Finals Day - Sunday April 19th The League Cup Semi Finals and Finals take place at Wodson Park this Sunday afternoon, April 19th. The schedule of play for the day is as follows..... 1.15pm - Court 1 - Hertfordshire Warriors v Harlow Hawks 2 1.15pm - Court 2 - North Herts Knights v Hatfield Magic 3.15pm - Court 1 - Harlow Hawks 1 v Ware Jokers 3.15pm - Court 2 - Luton Fliers 1 v Cambridge Cougars 5.15pm - Main Court - DIVISION TWO FINAL 7.15pm - Main Court - DIVISION ONE FINAL As usual entrance is free, and seating will be provided for spectators. The Quarter Final matches were all keenly contested and produced a number of upsets in both divisions. The games on Sunday promise to provide an exciting finale to the season. HPL League Winners The 2008/2009 HPL League Champions are.... Divsion Two - Hertfordshire Warriors Division One - Harlow Hawks 1 In an exciting finale to the league season, both divisions came down to a single game in the last weekend of the season between the top two teams. Herts Warriors overcame an eight point half time deficit against second placed Jacks to come back and claim victory, while Harlow Hawks 1 lost by a single point to runners up Luton Fliers 1 but managed to secure the head to head on points difference.
